Ms. Jessie Helms discovered her calling as an educator at just 8 years old, inspired by the powerful influence of the teachers who shaped her early life. From that moment on, she pursued education with relentless passion, earning a degree in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Born and raised in Carrollton Farmers Branch, she always knew she wanted to live and work right here in Dallas, the city she loves.
 She began her career in Dallas ISD in 2012 as a 3rd grade Math and Science teacher at Silberstein Elementary. Her high expectations and drive to elevate student performance led her to Blanton Elementary, where she taught 5th grade and contributed to raising student achievement and transforming the learning culture. Her impact earned her the distinction of Dallas ISD Master Teacher.
Driven by a passion for leadership and teacher support, Ms. Helms transitioned to the assistant principal role at San Jacinto Elementary, where she continues to serve today. In this role, she has helped to build and strengthen instructional systems and cultivate a culture of high expectations and student success.
Ms. Helms is a dedicated instructional leader who believes that every child deserves access to a high-quality, caring teacher. As she moves into the Principal role, she will lead with excellence and heart, ensuring that every student on her campus can thrive and envision a future without limits. 
Ms. Helms is excited to begin her 5th year as a San Jacinto Jet and continue the greatness of this campus and soar to excellence in the 25-26 school year!
